A ny book by Thomas Moore undoes me, educates me, and feeds me at a depth that is rare to find and as precious as gold. No, more so. As precious as life itself.

I haven’t met Thomas, but we correspond, by, of all things, Linked In. Such are the wonders of modern life. In personal correspondence he speaks with the same voice as we hear in his books. For me the tragedy is that in this age of “evidence-based therapies”, the soul is neglected and invisible. It is to and from this soul that Thomas speaks.

This book is certainly about sexuality, but it is equally a song of spirituality. And in the depths of our being these two threads fertilize and create each other.

T his is not a “how to” book – nothing that centres on the soul can be – but rather asks us to consider and be in wonder. For me, the fact that Thomas Moore is alive on this earth concurrently with myself is a blessing. We are of the same flock. We have passed through similar educations: religion, music, philosophy, Jung, psychotherapy, writing, etc. He is my elder brother and inspiration in every respect. If I ever have to cull my books, those by Thomas will stay, till my last breath. In a recent lecture, he said that he cannot get rid of his books – that even if he hasn’t read them, they carry the weight of his life. (I’m paraphrasing here.)
